WINDSURFING

No class room learning, just hands on teaching to get you on the water, and give you a taster in this clean, environmentally friendly sport. The equipment of today makes windsurfing easier and more enjoyable compared to previous equipment. Fast track: Newer designed kit and wider boards enables you to spend more time on the board than in the water! This sport has escalated over the years, and is moving very fast. It originated around 1980, and there are some examples of older style kit on display in The Boathouse. Back then it would take around two years to get to the stage that you will be at after this 5 stage course from taster through to session 4. This will have you racing around on the water on your own just wanting to learn more and go faster. It has never been so easy, the equipment you'll be using will be the latest big boards for stability and control, With Minter beach just across the road from Barton's Point you can progress very quickly from  the safe environment of the Lake to the Sea where minterwindsurfing is very popular.  

Taster lesson: This will be a 2hour session with 30 mins spent on dry land talking around the equipment and basic safety. You will then be able to use the simulator, then be taken on the water with our instructor beside you talking you through the basics, learning the art of falling, gaining confidence and learning balance.

Subsequent lessons: (If you've enjoyed the taster and wish to carry on). These 4 part improver courses will carry you through the basics, sub planing, upwind, downwind, beach starts, turning and sailing back to where you started. This will also allow you to have a free pass to your first solo sail on the lake.   

Fast track: Is to have you confident on your own with your own equipment in as little as 5 hours.  No restrictions, no pollution, at one with nature. Its up to you how far you want to take the sport.
